Energy Management Standard ISO 50001 Anticipated to Arrive Fall 2011

With ever rising energy prices looming, there is a new energy management standard scheduled for publication. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) announced that they will be releasing the new standard ISO 50001, which has the objective of increasing energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and improving energy performance.
The ISO project committee (ISO/PC 242) is expediting publication due to an overwhelming amount of support from the over forty ISO member countries involved in the development of ISO 50001.
