February 2008: Tom Karwoski, Sr. Project
Manager, is participating in WDNR's Technical Advisory Committee
for coordinating the NR 504 Exemption and the NR 812 Variance
for Private Wells Near Landfills.
The committee's purpose is to assist WDNR in aligning
its approach to granting an exemption to the private well setback
provision under NR 504 (Landfill Location, Performance, Design
and Construction Criteria) with the process and criteria for
granting a variance in NR 812 (Well Construction and Pump Installation).
The committee will propose changes to the code that clarify to
the public and landfill owners what the timing and requirements
are to obtain the exemption and variance, and that eliminate
duplication of agency decisions. |
